Barnardo's Scotland is in search of dedicated and enthusiastic candidates for a Project Worker role within our Child and Family Support Service.

We are seeking an individual who possesses a sincere passion for assisting children and families, providing support across various environments such as family residences, educational institutions, and community settings. This role involves offering assistance either on a one-on-one basis or in group settings with children, young individuals, and their parents or guardians. Our services cater to children with disabilities and their families.

Our objective is to empower children and families through a holistic approach, emphasizing their strengths and building upon their assets and interests to help them achieve optimal outcomes and foster a sense of belonging within their communities. We employ a relationship-centered methodology to cultivate trust with children and their families, enhancing their capacity and resilience. The service functions within a multi-agency framework, collaborating with partner organizations and professional stakeholders, and working as part of a team that may include staff from various partner entities, focusing on a cooperative and co-produced strategy to problem-solving.

Candidates should demonstrate commitment, enthusiasm, and motivation, along with excellent communication abilities and a collaborative spirit, showcasing a respectful and inclusive demeanor. Creativity, innovation, adaptability, and dynamism are essential traits, enabling the delivery of a person-centered and effective service to children and families. A warm, nurturing, and empathetic approach is crucial. Candidates should exhibit professional curiosity and possess direct experience in working with children and families, along with an understanding of child and adult protection matters. Experience with children with disabilities is preferred but not mandatory.

A flexible mindset is vital for providing support when families require assistance, which may include early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

The role necessitates effective time management to balance direct support for children and families with the administrative responsibilities of the position.

A valid driving license and access to a vehicle are essential for this role.
