About the Role

Award-winning Civil Engineering and Transport Planning consultancy, Aldwych Consulting, is seeking a Senior Transport Planner to join their Cambridge office. As a key member of the team, you will lead and manage small to medium-sized projects, working closely with clients and officers to deliver high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement transportation plans, including Transport Assessments, Transport statements, travel plans, and technical notes
  • Prepare and submit appeal documentation, ensuring regulatory compliance and sustainable development planning
  • Project manage schemes, including budget and time management, to ensure successful project delivery
  • Collaborate with clients and officers to provide excellent customer service and support
  • Assist in the training and development of junior team members
  • Review and approve planning drawing requirements, such as visibility splays, vehicle tracking diagrams, and access designs
  • Attend public consultation events, project team meetings, appeal meetings, and local highway authority meetings
  • Prepare fee proposals and tenders to secure new business opportunities

Requirements

  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience
  • Membership of relevant professional organization
  • At least 4 years of transport planning experience
  • Proficient with the use of junction modelling software, such as Arcady and Picady
