Senior Transport Planner

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Transport Planner to join our team in Cambridge. As a Senior Transport Planner, you will be responsible for engaging in all aspects of transport planning, traffic, and transportation engineering.
Key Responsibilities:- Preparation of Transport Assessments for new developments
- Providing advice on the transport aspects of development master planning
- Managing smaller individual projects and providing professional and technical support to directors engaged in larger projects
- Proficient in using and analysing data from various transportation software packages
- Attending meetings, presentations, public consultation events, and undertaking site visits
The consultancy primarily serves private sector clients. As the Senior Transport Planner, you will work on a variety of projects, including:
- Medium to large warehouses
- Residential developments ranging from 200-500 units to 2000-10000 units
- Commercial developments
- Food retailers
- Leisure projects
- Understanding of and experience of working in the Planning Regulatory framework
- Knowledge of planning and transport policy as applied to development
- Sound technical experience, including familiarity with relevant software
- Working knowledge of the relevant highway standards
- Capability to work to deadlines and work autonomously when required
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of staff and clients
Applicants should be able to demonstrate a proven track record in some or all of the above fields, be computer literate, and have a good working knowledge of Transport Assessments and traffic modelling programs. Experience of a range of Transport Planning solutions for both public and private sectors, as well as experience working in or with a multi-disciplinary design consultancy, is also desirable.
