Reporting to the Signalling Testing Manager, this position primarily involves site-based work on projects, which may necessitate extended lodging away from home and working during unsocial hours. A full UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in Railway Signalling Testing & Commissioning for both Simple and Complex projects.
  • NR Complex Works TIC certification, along with Tester In Charge and Functional Tester IRSE Licence.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Network Rail Signal Works Testing Handbook.
  • Understanding of principles and systems testing requirements.
  • A1 IRSE assessor for all Testing Categories except Principles and Systems Testing (desirable).
  • Extensive Railway Signalling experience, particularly in managing signalling testing.
  • Strong understanding of Railway Group and NR company standards.
  • Excellent personnel management and communication skills.
  • Able to perform under pressure during critical commissioning phases.
  • Current Driving Licence.
  • Willingness to work flexibly and efficiently in support of project goals.
  • Ability to contribute to the management team for the development and future direction of the testing group.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assume overall responsibility for the testing and commissioning of new and modified signalling systems for Complex Works Testing of Signalling projects.
  • Perform testing duties within the scope of the Certificate of Competency held.
  • Represent AtkinsRéalis at Client meetings.
  • Manage Work Package responsibilities on Projects.
  • Identify resource needs for your projects and ensure competent staff are utilized, briefed on their responsibilities, and that necessary documentation is completed.
  • Encourage and promote staff development as a pathway to self-improvement.
  • Disseminate management briefings as necessary.
  • Act as a deputy for the Testing & Commissioning Engineer.
  • Provide upward updates on project testing status to T&CE and Project team as required.
  • Ensure audits and surveillances are conducted in accordance with the Project Quality plan.
  • Ensure compliance with AtkinsRéalis Rail standards, procedures, and processes covering all engineering, safety, administrative, and project requirements.
  • Collaborate with quality, safety, and environmental objectives and contribute to continual improvement.
  • Oversee testing and commissioning of signalling equipment to meet contract specifications, performance, and safety standards.
  • Manage effective utilization and allocation of project-based testing resources, both internal and subcontracted.
  • Prepare and verify bids for accuracy and pricing for the testing segment of signalling projects.
  • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of processes, procedures, innovations, and initiatives.
