Job Details

As a Policy Support Specialist with the Umbrella Functional Consulting & Support Team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Ministry of Defence (MOD) in the development of resettlement policy for ARAP Afghans. Your main responsibilities will include leading on policy input, working to deliver leasing of SFA for occupation, and supporting the Assistant Head and Deputy Director with advice to Ministers and senior officials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement policy initiatives to support the resettlement of ARAP Afghans
  • Collaborate with Local Authorities to deliver leasing of SFA for occupation
  • Provide advice to Ministers and senior officials on policy matters
  • Support the Parliamentary Secretariat function in preparing written briefing and responses to Parliamentary business
  • Build strong relationships with key MOD and Whitehall stakeholders
Requirements
  • SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role
  • Policy experience and strong communication skills
  • Ability to build good working relationships and draft formal correspondence
  • Previous experience in policy or secretariat work within HMG
