Job Title: Senior Internal Auditor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Internal Auditor to join our team at Warwick District Council. As a Senior Internal Auditor, you will play a key role in providing assurance on the effectiveness of our internal controls and risk management processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage internal audit assignments, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery
  • Develop and implement risk-based audit plans, identifying areas of high risk and providing recommendations for improvement
  • Conduct audits and reviews of business processes, identifying areas for improvement and providing recommendations for change
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize audit objectives and scope
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including senior management and audit committees

Requirements:

  • Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors (CIIA) or UK chartered accountancy body (CCAB) qualified
  • Proven experience in internal auditing, with a strong understanding of risk-based auditing and systems-based auditing
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality results
