About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Enterprise Manager to join our dynamic Careers, Employability, and Student Enterprise (CESE) division at the University of Southampton.

This is a pivotal role in supporting the Head of Student Enterprise and Events in designing and overseeing the University's Student Enterprise programme. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Student Enterprise Junction, a co-working space for students, ensuring a valuable experience for clients and stakeholders, and managing the Student Enterprise Coordinators.

The ideal candidate will have experience or knowledge in setting up a business, working within or supporting a startup ecosystem and/or delivering a programme of support to students in enterprise and entrepreneurship, ideally within a Higher Education setting. They will be able to provide evidence of sector knowledge and demonstrate successful outcomes.

The successful candidate will be a confident and credible professional with excellent organisational skills and the ability to inspire and motivate others. They will excel at driving our programme forward, providing one-to-one advice sessions, creating and delivering skills development workshops, and overseeing the daily operations of the Student Enterprise Junction.

The role will also involve managing a team of coordinators to ensure a high-quality student experience. The ideal candidate will be able to develop their own ideas for a wide range of student enterprise activities and creative ways to connect with business experts.

About You

We are looking for a strategic and organised individual with a background in business development and/or entrepreneurship. The successful candidate will have excellent organisational skills and the ability to inspire and motivate others.

The ideal candidate will have experience in:

  • Setting up a business
  • Working within or supporting a startup ecosystem
  • Delivering a programme of support to students in enterprise and entrepreneurship

The successful candidate will be able to provide evidence of sector knowledge and demonstrate successful outcomes.
