Clinical Specialist Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Specialist Therapist to join our Urgent Care Therapy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert therapy services to patients in the Emergency Department, Acute Medical Unit, and Short Stay Units.
Job Responsibilities- To provide high-quality therapy services to patients with a range of conditions, including respiratory, neurological, and orthopaedic conditions.
- To work collaboratively with the Frailty and Interface Team to ensure comprehensive geriatric assessments are completed in the emergency corridor.
- To provide therapy interventions in the Emergency Department and Acute Medical Unit, including functional and risk assessments, liaison with other services, and working with Consultants in Emergency Care and Consultant Physicians/Geriatricians.
- To assist in the smooth running of the patient discharge pathway, preventing unnecessary admission to acute hospital wards.
- To provide clinical leadership and expertise to the therapy team, including developing the service, ensuring evidence-based practice, and contributing to clinical governance targets.
- Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy
- HCPC Registered
- Evidence of CPD (portfolio)
- Evidence of postgraduate training/qualification relevant to clinical area
- Member of RCOT or CSP
- Member of Specialist section within professional body
- Experience of audit
- Experience of presenting complex data to a range of different audiences
- Experience of supervising and mentoring junior members of staff and pre-registration students
- Experience of providing clinical/professional leadership to junior members of staff
- Ability to lead and influence change
- Experience of working with regional/national networks
- Acute hospital experience 2 years minimum
- Experience of working collaboratively across teams
