We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Functional Skills Tutor to join our team at Exclusive Education. As a Functional Skills Tutor, you will be responsible for teaching and supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will have a strong background in teaching Functional Skills, with experience of working with students with SEN. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences, using a range of strategies to engage and motivate students. You will also be required to work closely with other members of the team to ensure that students receive a comprehensive and supportive education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach Functional Maths and English to students with SEN
  • Deliver OCR Life and Living Skills course, focusing on independent living and work skills
  • Provide PSHE and careers guidance to students
  • Develop and implement creative curriculum sessions
  • Support students with challenging behaviour and develop strategies to manage this
  • Work with students aged 16-19 years old
Requirements:
  • Relevant teaching qualification with QTS, such as a PGCE, B.Ed. or a BA Hons
  • Eligibility to work in the UK or be a UK resident
  • Previous experience of working with children and supporting pupils with SEN
  • Experience of supporting pupils with behavioural difficulties
  • Good knowledge of the full curriculum
  • Previous KS3 and KS4 teaching experience
  • Two references working with children covering the last 2 years
  • Current DBS registration or willingness to apply for a new one
