We are seeking an experienced Medical Doctor to join our team at Cygnet Hospital Woking, providing on-call cover to our Psychiatry Teams. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mental health and be able to work flexibly, including week nights, weekends, and bank holidays.

The role involves providing medical cover to our wards, assessing and treating patients, and maintaining high professional standards. The successful candidate will be a first-rate communicator, able to interview, assess, and treat patients, and write clear, comprehensive medical notes.

We offer a competitive rate, including a weekday rate of £200, free parking, paid private indemnity, and access to the NHS Discount Scheme. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to work with a dedicated team of professionals and contribute to the delivery of high-quality mental health services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-call cover to our Psychiatry Teams, including week nights, weekends, and bank holidays
  • Assess and treat patients, maintaining high professional standards
  • Write clear, comprehensive medical notes
  • Communicate effectively with the multi-disciplinary team and nursing staff
  • Ensure that the wards are not left without medical cover at any time during the duty period

Requirements:

  • Experience within a mental health setting
  • Knowledgeable of mental health legislation and codes of practice
  • An excellent clinical decision maker, with sound judgement and ability to manage risk
  • A first-rate communicator, able to interview, assess, and treat patients
  • Committed to continued professional development
