About the Role

Vine Medical Group is seeking a skilled Prescription Clerk to join our Pharmacy Team. As a key member of our administrative team, you will play a vital role in coordinating and preparing repeat prescriptions for our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process repeat medication requests and ensure queries are dealt with promptly and accurately.
  • Expedite urgent prescriptions to ensure a safe and responsive service for our patients.
  • Coordinate and prepare repeat prescriptions, data entry into patient records, EPS, and patient and pharmacy liaison.
  • Manage pharmacy team emails and support daily Docman workflow.
  • Contact patients regarding requests and prescriptions, and ensure accurate recording of patient and internal contacts.
  • Answer Pharmacy Team phone lines and manage queries.
  • Liaise with pharmacies on the supply of prescribed drugs and alert clinicians of supply issues.
  • Complete medicine management tasks as advised by GPs.
  • Highlight patient queries on medication to pharmacists and relevant GPs.

Person Specification

Essential

  • GCSE in English and Maths or equivalent.
  • Experience within an administrative role.
  • Experience of delivering customer service in an NHS environment or similar patient/customer-facing role.

Desirable

  • NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services.
  • Prescription Clerk Training/Medicines Optimisation Training.
  • Working knowledge of EMIS/medical systems.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
