About the Role
Vine Medical Group is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Prescription Clerk to join our Pharmacy Team. As a key member of our administrative team, you will play a vital role in supporting clinicians in the management and preparation of prescriptions.
Key Responsibilities
- Process repeat medication requests and ensure queries are dealt with promptly and accurately.
- Expedite urgent prescriptions to maintain a safe and responsive service for our patients.
- Coordinate and prepare repeat prescriptions, data entry into patient records, EPS, and patient/pharmacy liaison.
- Manage pharmacy team emails and support daily Docman workflow.
- Communicate with patients regarding prescription queries and issues.
- Ensure accurate recording of patient and internal contacts within clinical records.
- Answer pharmacy team phone lines and manage queries.
- Liaise with pharmacies on the supply of prescribed drugs and alert clinicians to supply issues.
- Complete medicine management tasks as advised by GPs.
- Highlight patient queries on medication to pharmacists and relevant GPs.

Vine Medical Group is one of the largest practices in the locality, caring for around 26,500 patients across the Waterlooville area and its surrounding villages. We operate across four locations and employ a multi-skilled team, including GPs, Practice Nurses, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Healthcare Assistants, Paramedics, Pharmacists, and skilled administrative teams.
Person Specification
Essential
- GCSE in English and Maths or equivalent.
- Experience within an administrative role.
- Experience of delivering customer service in an NHS environment or similar patient/customer-facing role.
Desirable
- NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services.
- Prescription Clerk Training/Medicines Optimisation Training.
- Working knowledge of EMIS/medical systems.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
