About the Role

Vine Medical Group is seeking a skilled and dedicated Prescription Clerk to join our Pharmacy Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting our clinicians in the management and preparation of prescriptions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process repeat medication requests and ensure queries are dealt with quickly and correctly.
  • Expedite urgent prescriptions to ensure a safe and responsive service for our patients.
  • Co-ordinate and prepare repeat prescriptions for our patients, data entry into patient records, EPS, and patient and pharmacy liaison.
  • Manage pharmacy team emails and support daily Docman workflow.
  • Ensure accurate recording within clinical records of patient and internal contacts and where actions are taken.
  • Answer Pharmacy Team phone lines and manage queries.
  • Liaise with Pharmacies on the supply of prescribed drugs and share recommended alternatives.
  • Complete medicine management tasks as advised by GPs.
  • Highlight patient queries on medication to the pharmacists and relevant GP.

Requirements

  • GCSE in English and Maths or equivalent.
  • Experience within an administrative role, preferably in an NHS environment.
  • Good IT skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft 365.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, able to manage and prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
  • Good communication skills, able to communicate effectively across different levels.
  • Ability to work as an effective part of a team and work without direct supervision.

Vine Medical Group is one of the largest practices in the locality, caring for around 26,500 patients across the Waterlooville area and its surrounding villages. We operate across four locations and employ a multi-skilled team, including GPs, Practice Nurses, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Healthcare Assistants, Paramedics, Pharmacists, and skilled administrative teams.
