About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Patient Blood Management Specialist to join our team at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

This is a 15-month fixed-term position, ideal for a dynamic and experienced nurse with substantial post-registration experience in blood and blood product transfusion within a clinical setting.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with staff at all levels involved in the transfusion process across the Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement transfusion education and training programs for clinical staff
  • Conduct risk management and clinical audit activities to promote the optimal use of blood and blood products
  • Advocate for alternatives to transfusion and promote evidence-based practice
  • Collaborate with the Transfusion Practitioners to raise awareness of regulatory and statutory requirements affecting transfusion practices
