About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Research Engineer to join our team at Thomson Reuters Labs. As a member of our global interdisciplinary team, you will be responsible for leading technical workstreams and developing innovative solutions in AI and ML.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical leadership and direction to engineers and researchers
  • Develop and deliver high-quality solutions using modern software development practices
  • Build scalable ML solutions and create large-scale data processing pipelines
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and transformation
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in AI and ML
About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Lead Research Engineer with a strong background in AI and ML. You should have a deep understanding of Python software development stacks and ecosystems, as well as experience with machine learning capabilities and techniques.

Essential skills and experience include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • At least 8 years of software engineering experience, ideally in AI and ML
  • Experience leading technical workstreams and teams
  • Strong understanding of Python and machine learning libraries such as Numpy, Scipy, Pandas, Dask, spaCy, NLTK, scikit-learn
  • Proficiency in automation, system monitoring, and cloud-native applications

Preferred skills and experience include:

  • Experience integrating machine learning solutions into production-grade software
  • Familiarity with natural language processing (NLP) problems and tasks such as named entity recognition (NER), information extraction, and information retrieval
  • Hands-on experience with other programming and scripting languages
