We are currently in search of a Payroll Operations Specialist to become a vital part of our Payroll and Shared Services team. This role is essential in ensuring that our payroll processes run smoothly and efficiently.
As a Payroll Operations Specialist, you will deliver comprehensive and precise administrative support throughout the employee lifecycle, adhering to employment legislation and company policies. Your contributions will be crucial in maintaining the accuracy and timeliness of payroll administration for both weekly and monthly payroll cycles.
This is a full-time, permanent role with a standard working schedule of Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, offering a competitive salary and the chance to collaborate with a leading organization in the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the Payroll inbox, addressing and resolving payroll inquiries promptly.
- Assist in the processing of both monthly and weekly payrolls, ensuring accurate calculation and input of timesheets according to established procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, absence, and statutory payments, ensuring compliance with deadlines.
- Set up and manage statutory and third-party deductions within the payroll system, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Oversee pension communications in accordance with government regulations.
- Prepare and distribute payslips for weekly and monthly payments, ensuring accessibility for employees through the self-service platform.
- Generate payroll-related reports utilizing payroll systems and Excel, ensuring accuracy and professionalism in delivery.
- Communicate any overpayments to assist in the recovery process in collaboration with the Finance team.
- Work closely with the HR Shared Services team to provide a professional and efficient service to all employees.
- Collaborate with the Payroll Shared Services Manager to maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with employment contracts and terms.
- Report any discrepancies that deviate from company policies and procedures.
- Perform general administrative tasks, including scanning and filing, as directed by the Payroll Shared Services Manager.
Qualifications:
To be considered for the role of Payroll Operations Specialist, candidates should possess the following skills and experiences:
- Experience in a high-volume payroll environment is preferred, but training will be provided as necessary.
- Proficiency in Excel, including the ability to use Pivot Tables for detailed reporting; training will be available if needed.
- Familiarity with other Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Outlook.
- Experience with payroll systems and relevant IT packages is advantageous, though training will be provided.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and processes.
- Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in checking the accuracy of outputs.
- Understanding of confidentiality requirements.
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- A proactive approach to personal development and expanding professional skills.
- Commitment to maintaining a professional image in all interactions.
