About the Role

As a Deputy Ward Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to patients within an adult acute services ward. You will be responsible for leading and motivating a team of healthcare professionals, promoting a safe and supportive environment, and upholding the highest standards of clinical practice.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide compassionate and effective leadership to a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  • Ensure the delivery of person-centered care that meets the individual needs of each patient, promoting their physical and mental well-being.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive care plans in accordance with best practices and regulatory guidelines.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and implement appropriate safety measures to protect patients and staff.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff members, providing guidance and support to enhance their professional development.
  • Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care transitions.
Essential Requirements:
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) qualification with a current active NMC Pin
  • Proven experience in a similar role within an acute mental health setting
  • Strong clinical knowledge and expertise in evidence-based practice
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of best practices
