Job Summary
Safran Seats is seeking a highly skilled Lead Stress Engineer to join our team in the UK. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading a Programme Focused Stress Team, evaluating and maintaining technical excellence, and ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of stress engineers to ensure tasks are completed to requirements, on time, and within budget.
- Develop and implement stress analysis methods and techniques to ensure the integrity of our products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that our products meet the needs of our customers and regulatory requirements.
- Review and approve stress and structural documentation to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Support the design team in ensuring that products meet cost and weight targets.
- Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent future issues.
Requirements
- Minimum 2:1 Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical/Aerospace/Structural Engineering.
- Preferably MEng or PhD with specialism in FEA, simulation, dynamics, materials, and/or structures.
- 10+ years of experience in Aerospace or comparable industry.
- Experience of working to industry standards and codes, including Part 25 (EASA/FAA) and Boeing/Airbus specifications.
- Proficient in root cause analysis (4D/8D/Ishikawa).
