About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced IT Manager to join our team at Xact Placements Limited. As the IT Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the management, security, and maintenance of our administrative and curriculum ICT network. This includes the software and hardware infrastructure of our ICT network, as well as monitoring the IT technicians working on site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Network Infrastructure Management: Run the school's ICT based applications and network infrastructure.
- Technical Support: Provide 2nd/3rd line support to staff and students.
- Policy Compliance: Ensure work is in line with school policies.
- Day-to-Day Operations: Manage all IT operations, ensuring that requests are dealt with quickly and effectively.
- Team Management: Take responsibility and line manage the work produced by ICT support staff.
- Technical Advice and Training: Supply technical advice, training, and support to staff to ensure they are able to make effective use of systems.
- System Maintenance: Observe and maintain all key systems, including virtual & physical server environments, switches, Microsoft 365, and backups.
- Staff Training: Train internal staff on the use of ICT systems.
Requirements:
- Experience: A minimum of 2-3 years of experience working as an IT Manager/Network Manager/Senior ICT Consultant within a school setting.
- Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to work independently and in collaboration with the team, with a skill for problem-solving and a pro-active approach to identifying opportunities to improve the services given by the team.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with top-end customer service skills.
- Understanding of School Environment: A high-level understanding of the responsibilities and requirements of working within a school environment.
- Upgrade Skills: Skilled in performing upgrades to a school IT Network system.
What We Offer:
- Salary: £37,000 - £42,000 negotiable for the right person.
