Job Title: Practice Nurse Band 6

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Practice Nurse to join our team at HCRG Workforce Solutions. As a Practice Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality primary healthcare services to the Defence Medical Services entitled population.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, providing routine clinics and developing programmes of care to meet the needs of the organisation and the population at risk. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating clinical care, as well as contributing to the line management and supervision of other nurses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver primary healthcare services to the Defence Medical Services entitled population
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide routine clinics and develop programmes of care
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate clinical care
  • Contribute to the line management and supervision of other nurses
  • Undertake mandatory training and remain in date for all relevant certifications
Requirements:
  • Registered Nurse (Adult) Level 1 with Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
  • Valid, in-date Personal Identification Number (PIN)
  • Minimum of two years post-registration experience in PHC practice
  • Minimum of one year's post-registration in a Band 6 or higher grade in a Primary Healthcare (PHC) setting
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), Anaphylaxis, Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) certifications
  • Immunisation and Vaccination Foundation Training and annual update e-learning training
Desirable Requirements:
  • Previous experience using the Defence Medical Information System (DMICP) and the DMS Automated Significant Event Reporting (ASER) system
  • Previous Ministry of Defence (MOD) PHC experience
  • Experience of managing and ordering of stock in a non-dispensing practice environment
