About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer to join our Engineering team at Siemens Energy Gas and Power Services based in Lincoln. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the design and development of Turbine and Auxiliary Control Panel hardware and Turbine Package electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop innovative solutions to replace obsolete equipment and parts to maintain our fleet of gas turbines.
  • Convert these solutions into generic replacement kits and parts for retrofitting.
  • Design and construct new hardware solutions to replace obsolete Turbine controls systems or upgrade current terms.
  • Construct new hardware solutions to replace obsolete auxiliary controls systems, such as Generator Control Panels, Motor Control Centres, and Power within Gas Explosive atmospheres.
  • Support sales by providing detailed quotes for engineering times, potential hardware requirements, and possible engineering solutions for customer inquiries.

Requirements

  • A degree or equivalent in an engineering subject area, preferably related to Controls, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, and Software.
  • Working experience with hardware design CAD tools, such as Promise-e and Microstation.
  • Knowledge of change/configuration management tools and processes, as well as experience with other IT-related tools and software for business analytics and project management.
  • Working experience of IEC60079 Explosive atmospheres Part 14: Electrical Installation design and selection would be beneficial.
  • Experience of working with gas turbine technology or similar industrial products for Oil & Gas or Energy industry would be advantageous, but experience from other industries with transferrable skills could also be considered.
  • Practitioner of a Systems Engineering approach to product improvement is highly desirable.
