About This Role

Are you a highly experienced pharmacist seeking to advance your career in a specialized clinical role within an acute hospital setting? East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a dedicated Lead Clinical Pharmacist to join our High Cost Drugs pharmacy team.

As the lead clinical pharmacist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our homecare service, focusing on high-cost drugs and biosimilars within rheumatology and dermatology specialties. You'll collaborate closely with clinicians and nurse specialists to ensure patients receive these essential medications through a seamless homecare delivery system.

This newly created position is a direct result of service innovation and Trust investment, designed to enhance the quality and efficiency of our medication management strategy. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring high-quality, cost-effective medicines are provided to patients, aligning with our overall commitment to patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the pharmacy team in providing specialized homecare services for high-cost drugs and biosimilars within rheumatology and dermatology.
  • Collaborate closely with clinicians, nurse specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care and medication management.
  • Develop and implement protocols and guidelines for the safe and effective administration of high-cost drugs in a homecare setting.
  • Monitor patient outcomes and identify opportunities for improvement in medication therapy.
  • Stay abreast of current best practices and advancements in pharmacy care, particularly within the field of homecare.
