We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) Inpatient Unit. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to children and young people with mental health needs and eating disorders/disordered eating.
Key Responsibilities- Nursing Care: Undertake comprehensive, patient-focused, nursing assessments and co-produce care plans in consultation with the service user and their families and carers.
- Risk Management: Undertake comprehensive risk assessments and formulate risk management plans with Service Users, their families and Carers.
- Service Development: Assist the Unit Manager in developing a service that will ensure that the needs of patients are met with regard to their age, spiritual, cultural, ethnic and sexual orientation.
- Unit Management: In the absence of the manager, undertake responsibility for the day-to-day running of the unit.
- Clinical Supervision: Provide management and clinical supervision to members of staff.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Liaise effectively with all members of the multi-disciplinary team and both statutory and non-statutory organisations involved with client care.
- Education and Qualifications: Essential qualifications include RMN, NMC Registration, and evidence of ongoing continuing professional development.
- Experience: Essential experience includes evidence of the ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, as well as previous nursing experience in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
- Desirable Qualifications and Experience: Relevant degree or working towards, ENB 998 or Mentorship in Practice or relevant teaching certificate, and experience of working with children and young people.
- Knowledge of Current Initiatives: An awareness of current initiatives within CAMHS.
- Understanding of MHA and Code of Practice: Understanding of changes to MHA and the Code of Practice and their practical application within clinical settings.
- Personal and Professional Development: Evidence of ongoing personal and professional development.
- Travel Requirements: Use of a car or access to a means of mobility to travel across the Trust footprint in line with service needs.
- Equal Opportunities: Willingness to carry out all duties and responsibilities of the post in accordance with the Trust's Equal Opportunities and Equality and Diversity policies.
- DBS Disclosure: Appointments to regulated and controlled activities require an enhanced DBS disclosure.
