Working Hours: 8:30am - 3:00pm, with a 30-minute lunch break

Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Supporting Education Professional to join our team at GSL Education - Bournemouth. As a primary support assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, tailored provision for primary pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with SEN, often on a 1:1 basis, to ensure they reach their full potential.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized learning plans.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to pupils, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist with lesson planning, preparation, and delivery, as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless support for pupils.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting children with complex additional needs is beneficial.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
  • Ability to work well in a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, reliability, and adaptability are essential for this role.
  • DBS clearance on the update service or willingness to apply for one with GSL Education.
