About the Role

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly motivated and proactive candidate to fill the role of Admin Team Leader within the TRC, part of the Respiratory department. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 1-2 years' experience working in a supervisory or management post, either within the NHS or with transferable skills outside the Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Build strong relationships with the Patient Services Centre, Pathway Co-ordinators, Medical Secretaries, Ward Clerks, and other relevant admin, clinical, and management staff to maintain excellent communication channels and good customer services.
  2. Act as a subject matter expert for the areas and patient pathways covered, and the Trust-approved systems used by the team.
  3. Coordinate and implement all administrative processes along the patient pathway to ensure efficient, smooth, and timely management of patient journeys.
  4. Set expectations for customer services and ensure all staff understand and maintain these standards.
  5. Cascade and/or escalate details of any delays or bottlenecks within the administration/booking process that may affect patient journeys and/or delivery of clinical services.
  6. Ensure all patient administration is carried out in line with Trust policies and standard operating procedures.
About the Team

The Admin team is based in the TRC on D level in the main hospital. This is a part-time role covering maternity leave for 1 year, requiring a minimum of 3 days per week, ideally Monday to Wednesday and Friday. Working hours are 8am to 4pm.
