The Senior Technician plays a crucial role as a Financial Lines Senior Operations Technician, focusing on a specific product line while providing extensive support to the broking team.

Working closely with management and colleagues, the Senior Technician oversees the administration and support processes related to clients' insurance needs. This position ensures adherence to company policies, meets performance targets, fosters business development, and delivers outstanding service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborates with senior team members to establish priorities, manage workloads, and mentor junior staff, ensuring that both personal and team objectives are achieved.
  • Oversees assigned projects and contributes to additional initiatives as required.
  • Provides relevant management information to the leadership team as necessary.
  • Ensures timely invoicing for clients and monitors policy modifications, particularly those affecting billing.
  • Investigates and suggests optimal methods for non-routine processing, including system workarounds, in coordination with management, IT, and Accounts.
  • Handles complex debiting tasks with precision.
  • Assists in the preparation of comprehensive broking, client, and other essential documents.
  • Performs technical duties such as data entry, credit control, and following up on outstanding requirements.
  • Serves as a reference point for staff, offering guidance on creating non-standard client/risk records, processing unique debiting needs, and resolving system-related challenges.
  • Stays updated on all regulatory and legal changes that impact the role.
Skills & Attributes:
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar capacity is essential.
  • Strong understanding of the Lloyd's and London insurance markets.
  • Proficient in IT applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Proven competence in technical training as mandated by industry regulators.
  • Thorough knowledge of FCA regulations pertaining to insurance intermediaries.
  • Exceptional grasp of insurance market processes and procedures, with the ability to audit and verify the work of others.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and diligence in producing accurate documentation.
  • Effective teamwork abilities with the capacity to assist less experienced colleagues.
  • Excellent prioritization and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Willingness to pursue professional qualifications.
  • Confident communicator with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Qualifications:
  • Local equivalent of GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths is essential, along with A level grades A-C (or equivalent).
  • Progress towards obtaining professional qualifications is preferred but not mandatory.
