Offshore Energy Transition Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Sustainability Consultant to join our team at Simpson Booth Limited. As a key member of our Strategy and Energy Transition group, you will play a crucial role in developing and delivering our organization's strategy and selected work programs, particularly in the area of greenhouse gas reduction.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the Director of Strategy and Energy Transition to support our organization's strategy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and meet international regulatory targets.
- Work with the Director and Technical Advisors to support the Greenhouse Gas Committee's agenda, objectives, and internal processes, including technology monitoring, alternative fuels, electrification, and vessel and crew efficiency best practices.
- Monitor regulatory developments affecting our members and brief the Director and IMCA as necessary.
- Interpret and analyze internal and external industry data to support GHGC and IMCA activities.
- Support other Technical Committees as required.
- Provide specific support to members on decarbonization initiatives.
- Attend and contribute to committee meetings and workgroups, preparing meeting minutes and following up on actions.
- Support the collection of member insights to identify opportunities and facilitate the development of guidelines.
- Assist in drafting guidance documents and information notes.
- Prepare key presentations and training materials for meetings.
- Assist with briefings for senior management.
- Work with the MSG team to maintain up-to-date committee member information.
- Collaborate with the communication team to develop engaging materials and ensure the effective outreach of our organization's work within the industry.
- Travel as required to represent our organization at relevant meetings and events.
- Experience in the marine sector or offshore energy or offshore construction or similar.
- Awareness of the evolving regulatory landscape and international legislative requirements.
- Ability to work with data and extract relevant insights from industry sources.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with groups of varying expertise and seniority.
- Self-starting and creative, with a passion for leading continual improvement and implementing strategic plans.
- Strong personal skills in representing and promoting our organization's work.
- Good organizational and coordination skills, with the ability to prioritize and work to tight deadlines.
- Able to work well in a team environment.
- Masters degree level graduate in a relevant discipline, such as environmental or marine engineering.
- Knowledge of environmental legislation.
