We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Resource Manager to join our team at South Western Railway. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the tactical delivery of traincrew resourcing, ensuring the efficient and effective utilisation of traincrew resources during normal service requirements and in times of disruption.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the delivery of an efficient planned and real-time resourcing of traincrews to the train service plan.
- Support and advise the Rail Operations Centre (ROC) team on current resourcing capabilities in line with the requirements for the service.
- Work closely with the ROC team to ensure the implementation of line of route contingency plans and the use of shuttle services.
- Ensure accurate and timely communication between the ROC and Duty Resource Managers (DRMs) locations during normal and disrupted operations, communicating contingency plans to DRMs and ensuring that these plans are implemented.
- Provide on-shift management of the DRM team, ensuring that all DRMs work to the highest standards and display the company's values and behaviours.
- Provide the Centre Manager with feedback on DRM performance, focusing on personal and company objectives that will enhance engagement with staff and the business needs.
- Assist in the creation and compilation of long-term service contingency plans, ensuring that regular efficiency reviews are undertaken with regards to resourcing.
- Carry out reviews of operational incidents and implement resourcing recommendations.
- Provide data in relation to traincrew resourcing, highlighting uncovered work and supporting the DRM team in order to provide coverage and reduce risk to train service.
- Monitor Bugle and Trust systems, ensuring correct attribution and assisting with the development, implementation, and monitoring of Performance Improvement Plans.
- Provide cover for DRM desks at Basingstoke station as required.
- Send out Electronic Staff Record (ESR) information to DRM locations and/or electronic traincrew notice boards.
- Attend Incident Line Reviews (ILRs) and Emergency Workshops (EWATs) as required and carry out necessary actions to protect train service.
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Resource Manager who has a proven track record in working within an integrated control centre environment or similar logistical environment. You will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to analyse reports and information. A1 Assessor qualification is desirable, as is experience in a strongly unionised environment.
