Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Support Worker to join our dynamic team at HMP Garth. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality care to patients in custody, working closely with qualified nurses and medical staff to deliver holistic care.

Main Responsibilities
  • Support the delivery of healthcare services to patients in custody, including administering medication, observing patients, and providing emotional support.
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring the needs of patients are met.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, carers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date patient records, adhering to confidentiality and data protection policies.
Requirements
  • Experience of working in a healthcare environment, preferably in a prison or mental health setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new situations.
