Position Overview

We are seeking a Compliance Risk Manager to assist the head of our department in establishing a new team of dedicated compliance professionals. This team will ensure that our organization adheres to all essential regulatory standards concerning customer interactions during critical moments. We are looking for a candidate with a strong compliance background who is also innovative and forward-thinking, eager to collaborate with business leaders to uncover new ways to enhance customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a specialist in Conduct & Compliance Risk management, representing the organization and fostering relationships with external stakeholders, particularly regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure that risks are effectively measured, monitored, controlled, and reported consistently across the organization, providing independent assessments of risk-related decisions.
  • Accurately interpret new and existing regulations, anticipating their implications for the organization.
  • Contribute to balancing risk-taking with risk management by defining a clear risk appetite that specifies tolerances and limits.
  • Aid in developing control objectives for Conduct & Compliance Risks, ensuring that business processes and activities are conducted in a compliant manner.
  • Identify Key Risk Indicators and Key Control Indicators to monitor progress and assess control performance, reporting to senior management as necessary.
  • Support risk and control owners in reporting incidents or non-compliance with control objectives, assisting in corrective actions and adjustments as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficient knowledge of DISP, CONRED, COMP, and the Consumer Duty Sourcebook.
  • Proven ability to challenge and advise on compliance matters.
  • Understanding of RegTech and the application of technology and data-driven solutions to improve consumer outcomes.
  • Familiarity with current Compliance frameworks and technologies utilized in both financial and non-financial sectors.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards in the compliance domain.
  • Experience in developing group-level policies and managing risk appetite, with a focus on continuous monitoring and reporting.
  • Demonstrated capability to build effective partnerships.

  • Examples of assisting businesses in understanding compliance obligations and ensuring adherence to Compliance Risk Appetite.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
