About the Department
The Impressionist & Modern Art department at Bonhams is a dynamic and fast-paced team that works closely with our colleagues in Paris and New York to deliver high-quality sales and private sales. We are looking for a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as an intern.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the department in preparing for sales, researching artworks, and supporting the team on viewing and sale days. They will also be involved in maintaining department databases, conducting art market research, and assisting with business development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Researching artworks using internal and external libraries
- Supporting the department in preparing for sales and producing condition reports
- Assisting with the handling of aftersales and supporting the team on viewing and sale days
- Maintaining department databases and conducting art market research
- Assisting with business development initiatives and greeting customers at the valuation desk
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have excellent research skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage workflow and priorities in a fast-paced environment. They will also have a keen interest in Impressionist & Modern Art and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
