About the Department

The Impressionist and Modern Art department at Bonhams is a dynamic and fast-paced team that works closely with our colleagues in Paris and New York to deliver high-quality sales and private sales. We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as an intern.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to the department, including researching artworks, preparing sales materials, and assisting with the handling of after-sales activities. They will also be involved in supporting the department on viewing and sale days, as well as maintaining department databases and assisting with business development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Researching artworks using internal and external libraries
  • Supporting the department in preparing for sales, producing condition reports for sale lots, and assisting in the handling of after-sales activities
  • Supporting the department on viewing and sale days
  • Maintaining department databases and assisting with business development initiatives
  • Assisting with art market research and providing administrative support to the department

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have excellent research skills, good attention to detail, and the ability to manage workflow and priorities in a fast-paced environment. They will also have a strong interest in Impressionist and Modern Art, excellent word processing skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
