Weston College Group is seeking an exceptional and highly motivated Lecturer in Functional Skills to join our team at HMP Leyhill. This is a full-time position, working 37 hours per week, on a Maternity Cover basis.

About the Role

We are looking for an individual who can develop and deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences for our students. The successful candidate will have a Degree or professional qualification relevant to the work, a Teaching Qualification, and excellent team working, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organise and administer teaching and learning activities
  • Develop and complete Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and contextual statements to monitor learner progress
  • Enrich learning through additional projects and broader activities beyond qualification delivery
  • Develop a positive learner experience on all courses

Requirements

  • A Degree or professional qualification relevant to the work
  • Teaching Qualification
  • Excellent team working, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent computer literacy skills, including up-to-date knowledge of Microsoft Office

About HMP Leyhill

HMP Leyhill is a Category D men's prison in Tortworth, Gloucestershire. As an adult male prison with Category D status, Leyhill is a hub for residents deemed suitable for Open conditions. In partnership with Weston College Group, residents at Leyhill can engage in education and training opportunities.
