The Catering Operations Officer plays a pivotal role within the Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust's Estates & Facilities division. This position underscores the Trust's commitment to enhancing its infrastructure, including buildings and accommodations, managed directly through the Facilities Management Transformation initiative.
The successful candidate will report to the Facilities Manager Catering Lead and will serve as a deputy for all catering-related activities within the facilities services. The aim is to ensure the provision of a high-quality, cost-effective catering service for patients, staff, and visitors alike.
The role involves coordinating, planning, and supervising the catering team's operations across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland. The focus will be on performance monitoring, quality assurance, and compliance, ensuring that the internal operational staff can effectively deliver essential care through patient feeding.
Main Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Facilities Managers, the Trust Dietician lead, and clinical managers to guarantee a compliant catering service while managing production processes to ensure adherence to control procedures and cost minimization.
- Ensure all operations comply with Trust Standard Financial Instructions and relevant Health and Safety regulations.
- Oversee the management of staff, consultants, and contractors as projects evolve.
- Identify, organize, and develop necessary tasks for the catering department.
- Conduct catering audits and manage equipment and catering testing.
- Assist in mobilizing contracts, which may require occasional weekend or out-of-hours work.
