We are in search of a driven, knowledgeable, and seasoned Infrastructure Solutions Architect who is passionate about overcoming challenges and fostering innovation. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of TechOps within our organization.

TechOps represents a modern, streamlined evolution of traditional enterprise IT teams. Our scope ranges from basic support services to high-level strategic planning, addressing a wide array of challenges across the organization. Embracing ambiguity is essential, as each day presents new and exciting opportunities to tackle diverse issues.

Role Overview

As an Infrastructure Solutions Architect, you will be entrusted with making high-level strategic and architectural decisions that impact the business. We believe in the importance of staying connected to the day-to-day challenges faced by our users, ensuring that your decisions positively influence the entire organization. This role will also involve providing hands-on support across various technical levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish benchmarks for an efficient and agile TechOps team.
  • Address complex technical challenges as we expand our workforce.
  • Make strategic technical decisions that affect the entire Octopus Energy Group.
  • Design, implement, and enhance processes, automations, and systems to improve user experience and operational efficiency.
  • Guide and mentor the TechOps team, offering support for their technical projects.
  • Assist in delivering exceptional technical support to ensure our employees can perform their roles effectively.
  • Work closely with the Security team to balance security, productivity, and user experience.
  • Manage vendor relationships and oversee the procurement of software and hardware solutions.
  • Lead intricate technical projects involving multiple stakeholders.

What You Will Need

  • Proven experience leading diverse technical projects across various platforms.
  • Proficiency in scripting, API usage, and automating repetitive tasks.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience collaborating with various teams and managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Familiarity with deploying applications across macOS, Windows, iOS, and Android.
  • Experience with Identity & Access Management systems.
  • Knowledge of Single Sign-On technologies and identity provisioning.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • A strong commitment to ethical practices and a passion for making informed decisions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with email security protocols and administration.
  • Familiarity with version control systems and CI/CD processes.
  • Experience mentoring junior team members.
