This is a challenging opportunity for a Technical Safety Engineer to join our team at MatchaTalent. As a key member of our Loss Prevention organization, you will provide technical guidance on facility design requirements pertaining to fire prevention and process safety engineering areas.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Guidance: Provide technical guidance and develop procedures for all company organizations on fire prevention and process safety engineering in facilities design and related operational requirements.
- Project Review: Review all new projects to ensure conformance to company and international engineering standards; represent LP at project proposal meetings and provide continuing guidance through design, construction, and commissioning.
- Facility Design: Provide company-wide technical guidance and assistance during design-related surveys of our facilities for adequacy of design, operations, and maintenance.
- Incident Analysis: Analyze fires and process safety incidents to determine causes and whether company standards or other requirements require update or changes.
- Problem-Solving: Initiate and participate in studies to resolve specific problems outside currently available technology.
- Training and Development: Develop training programs in the field of process safety and fire prevention engineering and provide training assistance as required.
- Risk Management: Use risk analysis techniques to identify corporate risk exposure and develop cost-effective solutions.
- Surveys and Compliance: Assist in surveys of our operations by insurance, government, and other outside agencies and act as the Company expert on fire prevention engineering standard requirements.
- Mentorship: Mentor other LP personnel.
- This role requires the candidate to permanently relocate to Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
- Hold a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or fire protection engineering.
- Possess 10 years of relevant industry experience in oil and gas, petrochemicals, or related industries with a focus on technical safety and fire prevention engineering for at least 5 years.
- Professional Engineering licensing/certification/registration in Fire Protection Engineering or an advanced degree is highly desirable.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills in English with the ability to communicate effectively with peers and management.
- Capable of producing clear and concise oral and written reports in English.
