About the Role

Oyster Care Homes is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Care Manager to join our team. As a Care Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of exceptional care to our residents, ensuring that our high standards are met at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and monitor the care delivered to residents, ensuring that legal requirements are met and the highest standards are maintained.
  • Recruit and manage a team of care professionals, providing effective inductions and training to ensure they are equipped to provide outstanding care.
  • Control and monitor the budget and expenditure of the care home, preparing monthly financial reports for the directors.
  • Support residents with their personal financial arrangements, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
  • Market and promote the care home, utilizing your skills and experience to attract new residents and staff.

Essential Skills and Qualities

  • Ability to manage budgets and accounts effectively.
  • Knowledge of sales and marketing principles.
  • Experience in recruitment, selection, and retention of staff.
  • Commitment to structured training and development of staff.
  • Understanding of the Health and Social Care Act and Health and Safety legislation.
  • Leadership qualities, enthusiasm, and influencing and motivational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Professional, confident, and warm personality.
  • Caring disposition, reliability, and punctuality.

Desirable Skills and Qualities

  • Understanding of local authority regulations.
  • Experience working with regulatory bodies.
  • Knowledge of Person Centred Software (PCS).
