Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Lecturer/Simulation Facilitator to join our team at the Center for Simulation. As a key member of our faculty, you will provide clinical instruction in a safe practice environment within our patient simulation laboratories for students at the baccalaureate, master's, and post-master's levels in the School of Nursing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective student learning opportunities through simulation scenarios, evaluating student outcomes and providing feedback to students and course coordinators.
  • Maintain clinical and simulation expertise through ongoing education and certification, staying up-to-date with the latest simulation technologies and best practices.
  • Participate in faculty governance activities, contributing to the development of policies and procedures that support the mission and goals of the Center for Simulation.
  • Assist with daily operations, including simulation setup, scheduling, documentation, communication, and supply management, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience for students and faculty.
  • Evaluate student performance and achievement of simulation objectives, providing constructive feedback to students and course coordinators to support their growth and development.
  • Engage in scholarly productivity through participation in simulation-related research, contributing to the advancement of knowledge and best practices in the field.
  • Collaborate with course coordinators to develop and implement plans for student clinical remediation, ensuring students receive the support they need to succeed.
  • Participate in student recruiting and retention activities, helping to attract and retain top talent for the School of Nursing.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution and a nationally accredited School of Nursing.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, with a strong background in nursing education and simulation.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with students, staff, and faculty.
  • Strong organizational skills, flexibility, and superior interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically and resolve problems or issues that arise, with a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Basic computer skills, including sending and receiving emails, researching topics via the web, and navigating the Canvas platform.
  • Knowledge of various simulation-based technologies and platforms, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in nursing, with a strong background in nursing education and simulation.
  • Prior simulation experience, with a proven track record of success in developing and implementing effective simulation scenarios.
  • Certification in simulation, with a strong understanding of simulation best practices and technologies.
