Position Overview

Vision for Education is in search of a dedicated Support Specialist who possesses experience in assisting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges and Emotional Behavioral Difficulties (EBD).

Role Responsibilities


The role involves providing support to children facing a range of SEMH and EBD issues. The ideal candidate will be an empathetic, enthusiastic, and resilient individual with excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with children who exhibit challenging behaviors.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Engaging with children who have become disengaged from their educational journey.
- Offering guidance and support tailored to individual needs.
- Collaborating with a committed team that prioritizes a child-centered approach to learning.
- Working one-on-one with students as necessary, as well as within classroom settings.

Candidate Requirements

To qualify for the Support Specialist position, candidates must:

- Have a minimum of three months of relevant experience in settings such as schools, youth centers, or residential facilities.
- Provide a reference covering a three-month period in a relevant environment.
- Have prior experience working with children exhibiting challenging behaviors, which is highly desirable.
- Hold an enhanced DBS check registered with the update service or be willing to apply for one.
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently and proactively.
