Overview

At Kirklees Council, we are committed to innovative and effective service delivery. We are currently seeking experienced Practice Supervisors to lead and guide social work practice within our assessment and intervention teams. This role is crucial in ensuring high-quality services that achieve optimal outcomes for children and families.

Key Responsibilities

As a Practice Supervisor, you will:

  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding children and enhancing their welfare.
  • Support the professional development of team members, including newly qualified social workers and students.
  • Strive to elevate the standards of social work practice within the organization.
  • Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of effective social work assessment and planning.
  • Chair multi-agency meetings with confidence and professionalism.
  • Provide high levels of challenge and support to your team members.
Qualifications and Skills

We are looking for qualified social workers who are ready to advance their careers. In this position, you will oversee a small team of social workers and family support workers, focusing on children under child protection plans and those involved in care proceedings. Your leadership will be vital in developing the skills and expertise of your team, enabling them to deliver exceptional services to children, young people, and their families.

Requirements

  • A recognized Social Work Qualification accredited by Social Work England (SWE).
  • Registration with Social Work England (SWE).
