Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to join our Materials Technology team. As a Senior Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of authoritative metallurgical advice and guidance to various functions within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct reviews of supplier technical and special processes related to metallurgy, corrosion prevention, and welding engineering
  • Conduct and report on metallurgical investigations and research, including the preparation of samples, safe and correct use of laboratory and workshop equipment, conduct of analysis, and preparation of test results and technical reports
  • Contribute to the technical evaluation of new materials and manufacturing processes
  • Support weld engineers in the assessment of pipe welds, structural welds, and cladding, including preparation and mechanical testing of samples
  • Contribute to the review and maintenance of relevant Process Instructions, Workmanship Standards, Operating Procedures, and Risk Assessments
Requirements:
  • Qualified to degree level (BEng/BSc) in metallurgy or materials science
  • Knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy
  • Knowledge of metal forming and processing
  • Knowledge of corrosion mechanisms and prevention
  • Experience of working within a team of metallurgists and/or welding engineers
  • Experience in the development and maintenance of metallurgical related workmanship Standards and Process Instructions
  • Experience in conducting research and technical investigations
