Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to join our Materials Technology team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing authoritative metallurgical advice and guidance to various functions, including Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the delivery of metallurgical advice and guidance to various functions
  • Conduct reviews of supplier technical and special processes related to metallurgy, corrosion prevention, and welding engineering
  • Conduct and report on metallurgical investigations and research, including the preparation of samples and test results
  • Contribute to the technical evaluation of new materials and manufacturing processes
  • Support weld engineers in the assessment of pipe welds, structural welds, and cladding
  • Contribute to the review and maintenance of relevant Process Instructions, Workmanship Standards, Operating Procedures, and Risk Assessments
Requirements
  • Qualified to degree level (BEng/BSc) in metallurgy or materials science
  • Knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy
  • Knowledge of metal forming and processing
  • Knowledge of corrosion mechanisms and prevention
  • Experience of working within a team of metallurgists and/or welding engineers
  • Experience in the development and maintenance of metallurgical related workmanship Standards and Process Instructions
  • Experience in conducting research and technical investigations
