Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Staff Nurse to join our team at University Hospitals Birmingham. As a key member of our Outpatient Department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the smooth operation of our clinics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and shut down clinic areas, ensuring patients are in the correct location for their appointment.
- Chaperone patients during procedures and assist with small procedures, dressings, and other general nursing tasks.
- Oversee the running of the department and take on link nurse roles such as sepsis, IPC, and Safeguarding.
- Assist with vascular dressings, breast biopsies, and ENT investigations.
Requirements:
- Registered Adult Nurse on the NMC Register.
- Evidence of achievements and career development in current post and ongoing professional development/competence.
- Experience of working on own and in a team in a healthcare environment, delegating to others within a team/providing supervision to others.
- Willingness to become a practice supervisor/assessor to meet Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) standards for student supervision and assessment.
- Understanding and knowledge of the NMC code of conduct.
- Awareness of current relevant NHS policy context.
- Understanding/experience of the principles of safeguarding and Mental Capacity.
- Awareness of health and safety issues.
