NHS Specialist Nurse Position

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our dynamic team within the Solihull Community Respiratory Team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient-centered care and contributing to the development of our service.
Key Responsibilities- Support all elements of the service, including hospital at home, admission avoidance, oxygen service, pulmonary rehabilitation, and specialist respiratory nurse-led clinics.
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of staff, including Respiratory Consultants, hospital-based Respiratory Nurse Specialists, Physiotherapists, Therapy Support Workers, and Occupational Therapists.
- Develop and maintain expertise in the clinical areas, including COPD, asthma, and bronchiectasis.
- Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide education and training to junior staff, students, and assistants.
- Diploma/degree in adult nursing and current registration with the NMC.
- Comprehensive clinical experience in managing patients with complex needs in the respiratory specialty.
- Knowledge of COPD NICE Guidelines, COPD GOLD Guidelines, BTS Pulmonary Rehabilitation Guidelines, and BTS Bronchiectasis Guidelines.
- Experience of supporting and supervising junior staff, students, and assistants.
- Good understanding of working in the community and current legislation applicable to patient care.
