About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nurse Specialist to join our team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our pain management team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in acute secondary care and a keen interest in pain management. You will be responsible for assisting our Consultants in Pain Management in undertaking pain management procedures, ensuring that patients receive safe and effective care. You will also participate in the admission and discharge process and the day-to-day running of the unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Consultants in Pain Management in undertaking pain management procedures
  • Ensure patients receive safe and effective care
  • Participate in the admission and discharge process
  • Contribute to the day-to-day running of the unit
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of pain management best practices
Person Specification
  • Registered Adult Nurse on the NMC Register
  • Evidence and ability to revalidate as required by the NMC
  • 12-18 Months post-registration experience working in an acute secondary NHS care setting
  • Evidence of achievements and career development in current post and of ongoing professional development/competence
  • Ability to read/write and speak, receive and understand instructions in English
