We are currently seeking a Quality Assurance Lead with substantial expertise in quality management and food production to guide a committed team within a renowned global manufacturer.

Role Overview

Reporting directly to the Quality & Food Safety Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the quality assurance processes for all products and packaging. You will lead, mentor, and develop a team of Quality Assurance Technicians; ensure adherence to HACCP, food safety, and regulatory standards; manage the microbiological laboratory, and continuously enhance all food safety and quality systems to meet FSSC 22000 requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with production teams to maintain high standards of quality.
  • Effectively address non-conformances and food safety challenges.
  • Develop and maintain the quality manual, serving as HACCP deputy team leader.
  • Create and manage internal technical KPI reports.
  • Oversee the quality assurance function to uphold FSSC 22000 GFSI standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all product testing schedules.
  • Manage calibration and maintenance protocols for laboratory equipment.
  • Lead the product control positive release system.
  • Guide and develop Quality Assurance Technicians.
  • Provide technical support and act in place of the QFS Manager as necessary.
  • Promote a proactive culture of quality and food safety.
  • Prepare the site for audits and manage the internal audit team throughout the process.

Essential Skills:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Quality Management within food production
  • Degree in Food Quality, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related field
  • HACCP, Food Safety, and a recognized auditing qualification
  • Familiarity with GFSI standards
  • Experience in managing chemical and microbiological laboratories
  • Proven ability to train and develop Quality Assurance Technicians.
