Role Overview
Reporting directly to the Quality & Food Safety Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the quality assurance processes for all products and packaging. You will lead, mentor, and develop a team of Quality Assurance Technicians; ensure adherence to HACCP, food safety, and regulatory standards; manage the microbiological laboratory, and enhance all food safety and quality systems to comply with FSSC 22000 standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with production teams to maintain high-quality production standards.
- Effectively address non-conformances and mitigate food safety risks.
- Manage and update the quality manual, serving as the HACCP deputy team leader.
- Develop and track internal technical KPI reports.
- Oversee the quality assurance function to uphold FSSC 22000 GFSI standards.
- Ensure timely completion of all product testing schedules.
- Manage calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Lead the product control positive release system.
- Guide and develop Quality Assurance Technicians.
- Provide technical support and substitute for the QFS Manager as needed.
- Promote a proactive culture of quality and food safety.
- Prepare the site for audits and manage the internal audit team throughout the process.
Essential Skills:
- Minimum of 3 years of Quality Management experience in food production
- Degree in Food Quality, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related field
- HACCP, Food Safety, and a recognized auditing qualification
- Familiarity with GFSI standards
- Experience in managing chemical and microbiological laboratories
- Demonstrated success in training and developing Quality Assurance Technicians.
