About the Role
As a Catering Supervisor at HMP Altcourse, you'll play a vital role in overseeing and guiding prisoners in the preparation of over 1200 meals daily. Your responsibilities will encompass ensuring stringent food safety standards, maintaining impeccable hygiene practices, and promoting awareness of allergens within the kitchen environment.
You'll be responsible for implementing and monitoring cleaning procedures, stock rotation protocols, and adherence to Health & Safety guidelines. This commitment to operational excellence not only ensures smooth daily kitchen operations but also contributes to a positive and secure environment for all.
Your Responsibilities
- Supervise and coach prisoners in the preparation of meals, adhering to strict food safety and hygiene standards.
- Ensure compliance with allergen awareness protocols and implement effective cleaning and stock rotation procedures.
- Monitor adherence to Health & Safety guidelines within the kitchen environment.
- Foster a positive and secure working environment for both staff and prisoners.
The Ideal Candidate
We are seeking an experienced individual with a passion for food preparation and a commitment to creating a positive impact. The ideal candidate will possess:
- City and Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ Level 1 and 2 diploma in food production and cooking.
- Industrial catering experience is desirable but not essential.
- Experience instructing or supporting individuals with challenging behavior would be advantageous.
