We are currently recruiting for a Catering Supervisor to work at a café based in a community youth hub in Liverpool.

This position is temporary and ongoing, and for the right candidate, may lead to a permanent role. The client requires someone who can start immediately.

Our ideal candidate will oversee daily operations of the café, ensuring quality food service supporting youth programs and managing catering for events. They will be responsible for compliance with safety and hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily café operations, including budgeting, stock control, and hygiene.
  • Supervise and develop the café team, conduct appraisals, and manage schedules.
  • Coordinate catering for events, ensuring resources and budgets are in place.
  • Collaborate with the Youth Manager on food provision for youth programs.
  • Maintain financial procedures, stock orders, and supplier relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and safeguarding regulations.
  • Ensure the food menu is nutritious and meets the needs of the local community and service users.
  • Prepare and deliver cold drinks and meals.

Requirements:

  • Level 3 Professional Catering/Hospitality or recognised catering qualification.
  • A Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is essential.
  • Substantial experience in catering management, youth/community settings, and performance management.
  • Strong communication, budget management, and team leadership skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing needs and promote continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of meeting dietary requirements for different cultures, for example, halal foods and recipes.
  • This role requires a basic DBS if you have one, great if not, then you must be happy to obtain one.

Position: Catering Supervisor

Contract Duration: 3 months initially

Location: Liverpool L8

Hours: 36 hours per week

Pay: £16.50 per hour, holiday pay paid weekly, £18.49 per hour
