About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Research and Evaluation Officer to join our team at the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU). As a key member of our External Affairs Directorate, you will play a critical role in designing and delivering impactful research and monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) shared services for internal and external clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver research and MEL shared services for internal and external clients, ensuring the ACU has the right data, insight, and evidence to support its strategic priorities and meet contract deliverables.
  • Contribute to the effective research, evaluation, and monitoring of the programmes offered by the ACU, including working with award-holders and stakeholders to collect, analyze, and report on both quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Develop research techniques and contribute to internal and external dissemination of information on the outcomes of ACU-managed programmes and ACU's work more broadly.
Requirements
  • Experience with development and application of innovative qualitative data collection methodologies relating to the evaluation of programmes, including planning, design, distribution, and administration of survey instruments and other research methods.
  • Quantitative/statistical analysis skills.
  • Experience with managing research projects using both qualitative and quantitative approaches, including reporting and dissemination.
  • Ability to analyze and report quantitative data and contribute to research projects and/or programme reviews.
  • Ability to develop approaches and methods to gather data from third-party stakeholders to verify evidence and account for impacts on partners.
  • Desk research and summarizing existing data and information in key policy areas, particularly within the higher education and sustainable development context.
